Meet Breanna Kirkland
"It is a beautiful thing when a career and a passion come together." - Brianna Kirkland
With a pedigree in early childhood education and social work, Breanna Kirkland is the founder and one of the leading figures of Expanding Minds Academy. Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Breanna’s journey into childcare and academics stems from her love of children. Having graduated from college with a Degree in Psychology, Breanna completed her specialization in Social Work in Family & Marriage. Her expertise in the impact of family dynamics and nurture on early childhood development gave her a unique understanding of the learning requirements of the growing mind.
Breanna’s professional background as a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Instructor enabled her to identify what academic structures helped and hindered the learning experience for young children. All these experiences combined empowered Breanna to create an academic environment and pedagogy that would provide the most fertile environment where children could thrive.

At Expanding Minds Academy, the focus is on helping kids hone their unique strengths and talents to perform to the best of their abilities, in competitive examinations, at all levels. All those who know her or have interacted with her admire Breanna’s empathy, creativity, and responsiveness greatly – traits which she ascribes to her experience as a customer service professional for a decade before founding Expanding Minds Academy.

Today, Breanna is committed to opening a childcare franchise across the U.S., which can provide academic support and creative skills development to children Pre-K and older. One of her goals is to increase female participation in STEM. She hopes to achieve this by offering accessible and affordable services to families from different income groups and communities.
She has long been an advocate of each child’s unique ability and how these skills can be honed with the right type of support. Expanding Minds Academy is her vision coming to life.
